چکیده

A multidisciplinary research effort that combines aerodynamic modeling and gain-scheduled control design for aircraft flight at post-stall conditions is described. The aerodynamic modeling uses a decambering approach for rapid prediction of post-stall aerodynamic characteristics of multiple-wing configurations using known section data. The approach is successful in bringing to light multiple solutions at post-stall angles of attack right during the iteration process. The predictions agree fairly well with experimental results from wind tunnel tests. The control research was focused on actuator saturation and flight transition between low and high angles of attack regions for nearand post-stall aircraft using advanced LPV control techniques. The new control approaches maintain adequate control capability to handle high angle of attack aircraft control with stability and performance guarantee.

Modeling and Multi-Objective Optimization of Stall Control on NACA0015 Airfoil with a Synthetic Jet using GMDH Type Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms

This study concerns numerical simulation, modeling and optimization of aerodynamic stall control using a synthetic jet actuator. Thenumerical simulation was carried out by a large-eddy simulation that employs a RNG-based model as the subgrid-scale model. The flow around a NACA0015 airfoil, including a synthetic jet located at 10 % of the chord, is studied under Reynolds number Re = 12.7 × 106 a...

Torsional Aeroelasticity of a Flexible VAWT Blade using a Combined Aerodynamic Method by Considering Post-stall and Local Reynolds Regime

The present research investigates the torsional aeroelasticity of the blade of an H-type vertical axis wind turbine subject to stall and post-stall conditions in various Reynolds regimes, which is experienced by the blade in a full revolution. In order to simulate the aerodynamics, a new model based on a combination of the Double Multi Streamtubes (DMST) model and the nonlinear multi-criteria C...

Robust Fuzzy Gain-Scheduled Control of the 3-Phase IPMSM

This article presents a fuzzy robust Mixed - Sensitivity Gain - Scheduled H controller based on the Loop -Shaping methodology for a class of MIMO uncertain nonlinear Time - Varying systems. In order to design this controller, the nonlinear parameter - dependent plant is first modeled as a set of linear subsystems by Takagi and Sugeno’s (T - S) fuzzy approach. Both Loop - Shaping methodology and...

Robust H2 switching gain-scheduled controller design for switched uncertain LPV systems

In this article, a new approach is proposed to design robust switching gain-scheduled dynamic output feedback control for switched uncertain continuous-time linear parameter varying (LPV) systems. The proposed robust switching gain-scheduled controllers are robustly designed so that the stability and H2-gain performance of the switched closed-loop uncertain LPV system can be guaranteed even und...

AIAA 2003-3957 Optimization of High-Lift Configurations Using a Newton–Krylov Algorithm

A gradient-based Newton–Krylov algorithm for aerodynamic shape optimization is applied to lift maximization of a multi-element landing configuration. The governing flow equations are the two-dimensional compressible Navier–Stokes equations in conjunction with a one-equation transport turbulence model. The objective function gradient is computed via the discrete-adjoint method. The design exampl...
